Brain Gym®: An Introduction

One Day Workshop

Chris Bozkewycz, a Primary & Early Childhood Teacher, will be teaching the ‘Brain Gym: An Introduction’ workshop on  …… Next date to be set.

In the one day workshops, participants experience many of the simple, but amazingly effective Brain Gym movements & are shown how to incorporate them into  their daily lives to support their various goals.

Brain Gym has been found to assist with children’s cognitive, emotional & social development. Teachers often find that their students not only begin to improve academically, but that the whole classroom atmosphere becomes more positive and cooperative. As the program focuses on building self-noticing skills, the children begin to monitor their ease of learning, as well as their emotional state, and use the Brain Gym movements as tools to support their own learning and growth.

The Brain Gym program has also been found to be very beneficial in supporting the development of children with a wide range of learning and behaviour challenges including eg. Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD/ADD, Developmental Coordination Difficulties and Oppositional Defiance Disorders.

The course will cover:

  • What is Brain Gym?
  • Give a basic understanding of how and why Brain Gym works
  • Teach many of the 26 Brain Gym movements
  • Discuss various ways of including them in the classroom
  • Identify sets of exercises to use for specific skills
