  • Brain Gym is a series of 26 simple body movements that are used by people all over the world, in over eighty countries, to enhance their lives.
  • The movements were first published by Dr. Paul Dennison and Gail Dennison in 1986 in a little orange book which is still available today: Brain Gym®: Simple Activities for Whole-Brain Learning.
  • The book was the culmination of many years of research into the link between movement and learning. It drew from Paul’s research while running the Valley Remedial Learning Centres in Southern California, which he established in 1969, as well as from Gail’s experience in movement education and natural vision improvement.
  • The Dennisons have continued their research and developed a vast body of work known as Educational Kinesiology, or Edu-K. The 26 Brain Gym movements are a small component of this much larger body of work.
  • Brain Gym 101 is the foundation course for continuing study to become a professional Brain Gym practitioner.
  • In 1987, together with a small number of other educators, the Dennisons founded the Educational Kinesiology Foundation, which is now known as Brain Gym® International and is the body which oversees and supports practitioners throughout the world.
